2020-2021 Awards BBQ
In June of 2022, HLES hosted it's first, hopefully annual, awards BBQ.
This celebration was to recognize the members for their accomplishments and achievements during the 2020 and 2021 years.

2020 EMT of the Year
Charles Rehkopf
EMT of the Year is earned by an individual who demonstrates superior clinical care AND actively advances their knowledge and skills in pre-hospital emergency medical care.
2020 Chief's Award
Jillian Van Doren
The Chief's Award is given to an individual who consistently displays values consistent with the expectations of the organization, creating a positive impression of the EMS system.

The Top Responder awards go to the top 3 members with the highest number of calls handled for a given year.

Years of Service awards are earned by members who have completed 5, 10, 15, 20, 30, 40, or 50 years of service.
2020 - Milestone Awards

1,000 Calls
Call Milestone Awards are earned by members who have personally responded to 1000, 3000, 5000, or 10,000 calls.
2020 Leadership Award
Chris Parks, Samantha Donnelly
Leadership Awards are earned by outgoing Officers/Supervisors in recognition of their selfless service and dedication.
2020 Lifesaving Award
None
Lifesaving Awards are awarded to individuals who successfully resuscitated a victim in Cardiac Arrest.
To qualify, the patient must be resuscitated in the field and be released from the hospital with the same quality of life that they had prior to the SCA.

Call of the Year Awards recognize crew members for professional actions taken during extraordinary calls for service.

The Unit Citation recognizes acts of organizations, units, or specially constituted teams in providing emergency prehospital care or EMS system support activities under extreme circumstances.
